BORANA CONSERVANCY CELEBRATED THE WEDDING OF JAY MACLEOD, MANAGER OF LARAGAI HOUSE, TO VENETIA PHILLIPS
Laragai House went into overdrive almost as soon as the Christmas guests had touched off the airstrip back home with the wedding of Laragai’s manager, Jay, to his longtime girlfriend, Venetia.
The wedding, which took place on Laragai House’s stunning lawns, had wonderful weather and beautiful views across Mt. Kenya. The pair were married in a beautifully prepared site at the end of the Laragai airstrip, over looking the northern mountains of Lengishu and Ol Lolkwe. The reception was held on the Laragai lawns, in front of the house, followed by dinner and dancing in a stunning marquee on the top lawn.
A truly fabulous day, with sunshine and smiling from all! We are sure you will join us in wishing the new Mr. & Mrs. Macleod the best of luck and a happy marriage together!
BORANA LODGE GOES FROM STRENGTH TO STRENGTH
Borana Lodge had its busiest time of the year over Christmas and new year, and enjoyed having guests celebrate a happy time with their families. In the lead up to the holiday season, Borana Lodge had been working to renovate Room 3, with new soft furnishings, an update of the bathroom and a completely new sun deck for guests to enjoy as they overlook beautiful views of the Borana dam, which is often filled with elephants drinking and swimming.
In other news, one of the Lodge’s most memorable guides, Ben, was awarded his Silver Guide License after taking the test in November. Congratulations to Ben!
