About Us

Outposts Travel Africa offers a very personal, tailor-made service. Using staff experience, knowledge and contacts we endeavour to make the most suitable recommendations for you, listening carefully to your likes, dislikes and ‘appetite’ for adventure! Travel Africa was founded in 2004 by Michael & DD Kingscote who have both travelled extensively throughout Africa and are always on the lookout for unusual and special places to recommend to clients.

We like to encourage you to step ‘outside your comfort zone’ and discover the thrill of new challenges that you might not otherwise have tried.

Our expertise lies in sourcing special, professionally run, family orientated businesses and locations in Africa, to create personalised holidays for our clients. We favour the more remote, unusual, friendly and relaxed locations, which still have the real feel of old Africa and do not cater for large numbers. We put a great deal of effort into your holiday because word of mouth is our best advertisement.

Meet The Team

DD Kingscote

Founder & Director

About

“The more I get to know Africa … the less I understand it. This makes every visit a step into the unknown making one both anxious and excited, heightening the anticipation. I look forward to Africa’s perfect blend of nature’s beauty and power which amazes, excites and extraordinarily also soothes one’s soul; I always want to go back for more and love the thought of introducing this continent and her diverse people to others through Travel Africa.”

DD was born and raised in her beloved Kenya. She has travelled extensively throughout Africa most of her life and returns as often as possible to continue her search for unusual and special places, accommodation and activities to recommend to her Travel Africa clients.

In addition to travelling, DD’s great love is horses. As an extremely competent 3-day event rider who has represented Great Britain, she is perfectly placed to recommend and arrange the best and most suitable riding safaris for those clients who share her enthusiasm!
