AUTHENTIC AND WILD
A great way to experience Africa at its most authentic and wild is to choose a mobile safari. Perfectly suited to the active and curious traveller who wants to get off the beaten path, mobile safaris offer a flexible alternative to the traditional lodge based safari. They enable you to move with the game so you can travel deep into the reserves and parks to find the best game viewing areas which are out of reach of most safari lodges.
It is possible to experience a mobile safari in many countries in Africa including Botswana, Namibia & Zambia to name a few. Mobile safaris offer everything from game drives to bush walks to canoeing and even scenic flights to see game from a unique vantage point. For the more discerning ‘adventurer’ choose a mobile safari with a personal guide and vehicle.
With a focus on superb wildlife and awe inspiring landscapes we can arrange a tailor-made mobile safari itinerary to suit your pace and interests offering all the necessary comforts, conveniences and a few unexpected extras! Accommodation can range from comfortable dome pop-up tents to large en-suite tents across a mixture of semi-permanent and mobile camps.
14 Day Mobile Safari | Botswana
4 ladies, loyal clients of Outposts Travel Africa travelled to Botswana for a 2 week mobile and boating safari adventure. Their main proviso was great game viewing, excellent guiding, and preferably to see as few other people as possible, oh, and a good bottle of wine over camp fire dinner!
We used Pride of Africa as our in country suppliers who are specialists in mobile camping and boating safaris. The only way to truly explore the Okavango Delta and its incredible landscape is to get out onto its waterways by boat while staying on uninhabited islands along the way. We had to share some of their feedback because it made us happy.
“The most amazing experience in Africa to date”
“This holiday exceeded our wishes/expectations. Zimbabwe was just amazing so didn’t think you would be able to surpass that for us but you did! Botswana is a truly beautiful country and the activities/lodges/camping you had arranged were spectacular – location, service, attention to detail etc.
Kurt McKenzie who was our guide for the whole trip except Planet Baobab & was just amazing. His knowledge was incredible across all aspects of nature (birds, animals, flowers, insects, reptiles etc.) as well as local knowledge, culture, history etc. He was also great fun and soon joined in the banter of the 4 of us (we can be quite a handful but I think he rather enjoyed it). He was also sensitive enough to ‘step back’ if we were discussing anything sensitive or pertinent to the four of us but fully engaged and active participant at other times. Also an excellent driver – great at risk assessment so cautious where necessary in the marsh but always managed to get us great viewing spots. I cannot praise him highly enough. Camping was amazing – exceed expectations. We were so well cared for in every way and the food just incredible.
The first lodge at Thamalakane was also wonderful – food and service.
The time on the river was very special and different to what we had done before in terms of land game drives. Game drives were all superb – especially using the transition days as game drives in their own right – genius! Quad bikes and meerkats were wonderful. You have exceeded our expectations yet again.”U Franklin & 'The Girls'
