MILD TO WILD ADVENTURES

Africa offers limitless opportunities for adventure, excitement and unforgettable experiences for ‘explorers’ of all ages. Whether your idea of adventure is a full-on adrenaline rush complete with extreme thrills, or a milder (but no less exciting) adventure with activities suitable for the whole family. Africa can cater for all.

We love Africa and we also love outdoor activities. So, what is better than combining the two? Camp out under the stars & fall asleep to the sounds of the African bush or fly over Victoria Falls in Zambia or Zimbabwe. Take on the World’s highest bungee jump, climb Table Mountain or go shark cage diving in South Africa. Hot-air balloon ride over the migration in the Serengeti or the Maasai Mara and witness the nail-biting river crossings as thousands of wildebeest and zebra brave the crocodiles on their migration.

Tackle the climb to the summit of Mount Kilimanjaro in Tanzania or scale the highest and most colourful dunes in the world in Namibia. Island hop in a dhow, sailing and sleeping in different locations around the beautiful Quirimbas Archipelago off Mozambique or dive in the turquoise waters off Ibo Island and explore the pristine corals. Experience some wild and beautiful parts of Africa on a riding safari taking you to extraordinarily areas of natural beauty and cultural significance. Embark on a proper walking safari in Zambia or trek into the mountains of Uganda and Rwanda in search of primates. Walk with camels in Northern Kenya or take to the water and paddle the Selinda Spillway in canoes on a private tented mobile safari in Botswana.

The choice is yours.

Botswana is a huge, sparsely populated country creating an ideal destination for an adventure holiday. Its diverse landscape comprised mostly of desert is also blessed with the most prolific wetlands in Africa. From quadbiking on the Makgadikgadi Pans to paddling through the famous Okavango Delta’s reed-lined channels in a Mokoro, activities can be as mild or as wild as you want! The diverse habitats of Chobe, Savuti, the prolific Moremi and the unique Okavango are sensational, both in the summer for birds especially, and also the dry autumn, winter and spring months for bigger game including large herds of elephant, plains animals and their predators – lion, leopard and cheetah.

Enjoy wonderful birds and wildlife (for the naturalist), beautiful and immensely contrasting landscapes (for the photographer), natural geological wonders (for the geologist), adventure for the active, as well as the immense constellations (for the astronomer). 12 Day Family Adventure Holiday | Kenya

Outposts Travel Africa arranged an adventurous family holiday for a lovely family of 3 who wanted to travel far off the beaten track in Kenya. We organised a 12 day adventure-packed itinerary that included 3 nights at Sasaab in Samburu & a 4 night quad biking safari led by Amory from Lattitude Adventures.

“Thanks to you and the team for organising such a brilliant trip for us. I think that it was probably our most expensive holiday yet but it was also the best. Amory absolutely “did us proud”. He’s a really nice chap and has a brilliant set-up. He quickly picked up on the first night that we didn’t just want to pootle around on the quads and on our second day he organised a serious trip for Will and me of just under 200Km which was fabulous.

Dawn I think best summarised our overall experience – Sasaab and the Samburu were a good start allowing us to see plenty of game, albeit in the slightly contrived experience of game reserves where the animals have no fear of people and are happy to walk within yards of the plethora of safari vehicles, and Amory’s camp, although a little thin on game, allowed us to see animals in a much more “real” way which was truly wonderful. We really did have an absolutely fabulous trip and whilst I think that I prefer South Africa to Kenya it has further enthused us with regard to African travel. Hopefully you’ll find something else to further inspire us in a few years!”
