Walk Luangwa 2020
350km | 17 days | 3 National Parks | 1 Valley
Our friends in Zambia from Remote Africa Safaris & Zambian Ground Handlers are taking part in Walk Luangwa 2020. The objective is to walk 350km (~220miles) over 17 days. The walk will be from North Luangwa National Park down along the Luangwa River to the southernmost camp in South Luangwa National Park. South Luangwa National Park is the home of walking safaris, so it is rather fitting to do a walk, in support of the challenge that the Luangwa Valley is faced with. This walk will go through a black rhino sanctuary, the entire distance to be walked is home to lion, leopard, buffalo, elephant, hippopotamus, wild dog, hyena, crocodiles and buffalo. Nick Aslin from ZGH has written a brief report on his trip so far which can be read here.
This project through the Luangwa Valley is to raise awareness and some much-needed funding for conservation and community projects in the area. A huge thank you to those that have donated already and for those still wishing to contribute you can do so below.
