THE HENRY VAN STRAUBENZEE MEMORIAL FUND HAS SOME PLACES LEFT FOR THE UGANDA MARATHON ON SATURDAY 1ST JUNE 2019.
Support The Henry van Straubenzee Memorial Fund and take part on the 1st June in Uganda. This marathon will take place on the Equator where you will encounter hills, heat, rough terrain, beautiful African landscape and dazzling views. It is a CHALLENGE! “A race like no other”.
When you register for this adventure it could include spending a few days in Jinja seeing some HvSMF schools and have the option of going white water rafting down the Nile. You will then join the other 300 internationals in Masaka, the Uganda Marathon village, in rural Uganda, south west of Kampala. Following the event the Uganda Marathon team can organise a safari or gorilla trek if you would like to see more of this wonderful country. Winston Churchill described it as ‘The Pearl of Africa’.
Former runners have said that “it was the best week of their lives”. Red Bull named it as one of the 9 best marathons of 2018! The HvSMF would like a minimum commitment of £1,500 to be raised by each runner and promises that everything raised will 100% be spent in Uganda on a project in one of the 45 schools where they currently assist over 30,000 children annually. Each runner will receive photographs and a granite plaque will be erected, acknowledging their donation.
Run for HvSMF and help them change the lives of thousands of African children. If you would like to take part in this marathon and raise funds for schools supported by HvSMF in Uganda, please email Claire van Straubenzee.
