For Experienced Riders
Namibia Horse Safari Company are the only truly mobile horseback safari in Africa and operate throughout Namibia. They have 75 hardy and beautifully schooled horses; 6 at Wolwedans, 14 in the south, and the rest near Windhoek. The dramatic and diverse rides take guests through some of Namibia’s most spectacular landscapes including Damaralands, Wolwedans, the Namib desert, Fish River Canyon and the Skeleton Coast.
The safaris are all 10 nights and include 2 lodge-based nights and the rest are spent camping out under the stars. Very rarely do people get to experience such wilderness and the effect is often transformative. Guests repeatedly comment that their safari had a profound effect on their lives, and all safaris are certainly unforgettable adventures. All of the safaris are expertly guided by Andrew Gillies, a fantastic horseman and host, and they operate between April and October when the desert is cooler. Each year they conduct an exploratory ride which traverses largely unchartered territory and, if they discover a successful route, it is added to the schedule the following year. Namibia Horse Safari Company keep the rides new and exciting, each one making their guests feel like intrepid explorers rather tourists on a trodden path.
