The Apartheid Museum, Johannesburg

March 07 2015

It's spartan and bleak in design, reminding us of imprisonment, segregation, persecution and revolt. The messages are powerful, with short films, photographs, sound bites and graphic photos and displays depicting time and history. I could have stayed longer and would like to return. It was a good educational experience.

On now to the Peech Boutique Hotel in Sandton/Melrose a little haven of peace and tranquillity where we are spending the night. Located about 30-40 mins from Ol Tambo International Airport depending on traffic, next to a park and golf course, and even a gym, accessible to guests, this small hotel has 16 well-appointed rooms and a good little restaurant which proved itself by producing a delicious dinner, good wine list and up to scratch breakfast the following morning.
