African Bush Camps has recently introduced a photographic safari vehicle at its Botswana camps. Visitors will have optimal opportunity to capture that memorable moment in the wild at Linyanti Bush Camp or Khwai Tented Camp. The specially adapted game viewers now feature an adjustable camera rest allowing photographers to raise their lens to a suitable height in order to achieve that perfect shot.
Although Botswana's dry winter months are heralded the best for wildlife sightings, from a photographic perspective this time of the year is challenging: harsh lighting, bleached blue skies, and dusty conditions hamper the ability to perfectly capture scenes.
By contrast the wetter summer season is often awash with colour. The rains rinse away the dust, harsh light is replaced by softer conditions and brilliant blue skies transform into dramatic landscapes as clouds gather. Vegetation is verdant as leaves shoot green and waterlilies float languorously in the Delta channels. Admittedly, wildlife disperses during this time and visitors have to work harder for their sightings but are rewarded with scenes of young animals born during this fertile season.
Secret Season applies from 1st November – 31st December 2017 and 1st January – 31st March 2018.
