New Manager at Kitich Camp, Kenya

June 25 2015

Kitich Camp received wonderful rains in April and May, so guests are enjoying a lush and green Mathews forest. Emma Hedges is the daughter of Dick Hedges who ran the famous "Turkana Bus", for those of you old enough to remember! Emma thrives in the deserts and mountains of Northern Kenya, and for 30 years explored the furthest reaches with her camels and Samburu team.

She speaks Samburu, built a small rustic lodge near the southern tip of Lake Turkana, and guides walking safaris. Emma has two grown up children - Lorien & Cadia.

Kitich Camp is an old favourite of Emma's, and she is delighted to be back in the Mathews forests. There is no-one better qualified to share their knowledge of the wild forest and the community surrounding it.
