Mara Walking Trails

April 20 2016

Welcome to Basecamp Explorer’s NEW bespoke adventure. Introduced in Spring 2016, Basecamp’s signature Mara Walking Trails allow you to fully reconnect with nature and yourself, whilst being designed to share a new angle of the savannah every day.

Following the footsteps of the Masai
Only allowed inside the private conservancies, like the Naboisho Conservancy, walking on the Savannah is an exceptional experience. Led by local knowledgeable Masai guides, the duration of a walking safari is the clients’ choice, with Basecamp’s recommended duration being 5 nights, 6 days, but they also offer shorter or longer itineraries depending on guest preferences.

Luxury accommodation
Accommodation includes the luxury Wilderness Camp and Eagle View, as well as Basecamp Explorer’s mobile camp, Dorobo Fly Camp. Included in this walking trail package is full board accommodation, 2 guided walks per day, sundowners, return flight to the Mara from Nairobi, all ground transfers, optional visit to community projects and conservancy fees.

Wilderness Camp is a lovely little intimate camp made up of just 5 simple yet stylish and spacious tents within the acoustic-enhancing Saddle Valley. It’s in the Mara Naboisho Conservancy, and adhering to Basecamp Explorer’s eco-philosophy, the camp is fully solar. With only five tents, each fitted with a private bathroom and ‘safari-shower', the camp offers the privilege of ultimate seclusion, perfectly enjoyed alongside a selection of first-class food and drinks.

The rack rate for a 5 night, 6 days trip in Green Season (01 April – 30 June 2016) is $1905 pps or in High Season (02 Jan – 31 March, 01 July to 01 Jan 2017) it’s $2430 pps. Contact us for more information.
