Kilimanjaro Marathon, Tanzania

The Kilimanjaro Marathon (42.2km), Half Marathon (21.1km) and Fun Run (5km) is going into its 13th year! This famous marathon takes place under the watchful eye of Mount Kilimanjaro in the little town of Moshi, Tanzania. As a fully registered IAAF race, the marathon has official marshalling, time-keeping and refreshment points at regular intervals. The Mt. Kilimanjaro Marathon is the only marathon that does not invite any professional runners. Every year an amateur runner wins! #kilimanjaromarathon

 

Safaricom Marathon, Kenya

The Safaricom Marathon in aid of Tusk Trust invites participants from all over the globe to compete in an internationally acclaimed event while running through one of Africa’s most spectacular wildlife conservancies, the Lewa Wildlife Conservancy. Although regarded as one of the toughest marathons in the world, runners of all abilities take part. The event has become one of Kenya’s major sporting events and is regarded by Runner’s World as one of the world’s top ten “must do” marathons. Run on a rough terrain and under harsh climatic conditions located at an average altitude of 5,500 feet above sea level., it is an enticing experience which has continued to inspire distance runners and athletic fans alike #SafaricomMarathon
